Ingredients
  

  • 3 ⅓ cups water Base liquid for the agua fresca
  • 2 ¼ medium cucumbers roughly chopped Yields approximately 500 g or 4 cups chopped
  • 3 ⅓ medium limes juiced Yields about ¼ cup or 66 ml juice
  • 2 ½ - 3 ⅓ tablespoon agave nectar or maple syrup Sweetener adjust to taste
  • 1 small handful fresh mint leaves Optional adds a refreshing touch
  • Ice cubes For serving and chilling the beverage

Method
 

  1. Peel the cucumbers if they have a bitter taste, otherwise leave the peel on for extra color and flavor.
  2. Add the water, cucumbers, lime juice, and sweetener to the blender, starting with the smaller amount of agave or maple syrup.
  3. Once blended smooth, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or large measuring cup to separate pulp. use spoon to speed up straining.
  4. Taste the agua fresca and adjust the sweetness by adding more agave or syrup or more lime juice for extra tartness.
  5. Serve the agua fresca chilled, poured over ice cubes.
  6. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days, or freeze the drink into ice cubes or popsicles.
